We need reinforcements for the siege & battle of the Alamo!
February 23 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The anniversary of the 1836 Siege and Battle of the Alamo is quickly approaching (Feb. 23 – March 6), and the Alamo is gearing up for two weeks of educational and interactive programming and ceremonies to allow Texans and history enthusiasts to commemorate the battle.
This year we’ll have more ways than ever for visitors to Remember the Alamo, but we need your help to make it happen!
We’re currently seeking volunteers for:
• Friday, February 23, La Grand Marcha del Ejercito Mexicano (The Grand March of the Mexican Army): The siege begins with the Mexican Army arriving in San Antonio. We’re seeking reenactors and living historians with soldado kits as well as volunteers to portray Texians, Tejanos, women, and children.
• Thursday, March 1, The arrival of the Gonzales 32: We’re seeking 32 brave men with Texian impressions to reinforce their comrades inside the walls of the Alamo.
Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 9 a.m. to receive instructions and brief on the events. After the day’s main event concludes, we invite volunteers to join one of the camps set up on the plaza to interpret the siege and the soldier’s life for Alamo visitors. Camps will be struck at 4 p.m. at which time our Volunteer Army will be dismissed!

***We are honored that so many of our amazing followers have offered their services as volunteers!! At this time, we have issued all of our Living History gear, so we need volunteers with soldado or Texian impressions.
